Middle school students worked on various types of sentences by making their double doozie cookie sentences while listening to a song that would help them remember the lesson. Once done with the foldable and practice page, they were able to enjoy their cookie representing joining sentences. They had fun.

Our fifth graders read Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodson and explored the powerful theme of kindness—especially the importance of not missing opportunities to connect with others. In the book, kindness is compared to stones tossed into a pond, creating ripples that spread outward. Inspired by this idea, our students created their own “ripples” by painting stones with messages of kindness and hiding them throughout the school. We can’t wait to see how these little reminders of kindness ripple through our school community!
