Blue Jay Football Week 1 Recap vs Gause 8/28/25
Offensively this young Bluejays football team was able to get in sync from the start. In the first quarter, within the first series, Cade Ranly completed a 40 yard touchdown reception to Creed Coker for his first career Bluejays touchdown. Also in the first quarter Lincoln McGinniss was also able to achieve his first career Bluejay touchdown for a successful 8 yard touchdown run.
Defensively, the BlueJays were also firing on all 4 cylinders. Within the 1st half, it was team effort from everyone. Creed Coker was able to force a fumble and had an interception along with a Cade Ranly interception as well. Overall the team played "lights out" on defense! One example occurred on a 4th down stop by the Bluejay's defense just before halftime which gave the offense an opportunity to run 1 play due to 1 second being left on the clock. Not to be outdone, the Bluejays offense lined up and Cade Ranly was able to complete a 45 yard touchdown pass to Kyler Greger. Another young Bluejay, Ryson McLaughlin was able to secure his first successful PAT after the touchdown.
In the second half, the Bluejays were able to keep the momentum flowing as Cade Ranly rushed for a 27 yard touchdown followed by A’King Clarkson-Williams successfully receiving a completed PAT pass from Cade Ranly.
Late in the 4th quarter, Creed Coker was on the end of a 10 yard Cade Ranly touchdown reception followed up by another PAT rush by A’King Clarkson-Williams. Also in fourth quarter, Cade Ranly completed a beautiful 34 yard touchdown pass to Kyler Greger and another young Bluejay, Luke Houston, was able to pad the lead with a successful PAT pass reception.
Overall, we learned that this young Bluejay football team is motivated, hungry and up for a challenge. In week 1 they displayed the potential to play as an all-around football team in all facets of the game.
This week they will be matching up against an always competitive Centex football team at Rosebud-Lott, Thursday September 4th, with a 6:30p.m. start.
